Almost all operas have really silly plots, so that it’s amazing how emotionally involved one gets in them, through the power of music mostly, although color and costumes and sheer spectacle play a big part, too. The HD operas are actually excellent; not exactly the same as being at the opera, but wonderful full experiences nevertheless. (IMHO)
